Thanks for this. My son is autistic and as his mom, this is something I learned about him quickly. He is not diseased but he copes differently and damn if the world lets him. Why is he only volunteering when he is able to work? Why doesn't he do his art all the time? Doesn't he like drumming anymore? is he good with math? URGH!!!! If we are not bothered by what he does or doesnt do, why is anyone else? its hard for my son to socialize and make friends but he tries his best but when he needs time to wind down he deserves to have it
