My goodness. My mother-in-law has so much of what you mentioned here. Reading this has confirmed what everyone in the family suspects - she is going to get really sick one day and she will be dead in days. It does not matter that she is surrounded by love and has rejected all our help. My sister-in-law is a nurse and we have told her all the things you mentioned. It seems like she just wants to die and there is nothing we can do to stop her from getting what she wants. It is unfortunate. I hope people reading this who drink excessively can really try and turn their lives around and accept help if it is offered.
